The Challenge
FortisAlberta had a time consuming manual process for contractors to enter their daily time. In addition, managers and the contractors were using Teams messages to manage and track the approval process for time entry. It was a very cumbersome manual process with an administrator entering the information from teams messages and spreadsheets into SAP SES.
The Solution
We implemented our Field Ticketing solution for Fortis contractors that provided real-time services receipt for contractors, validating the time entry up front. The application validated the PO line item and ensured that the work order had remaining capacity. In addition, an automated approval workflow was developed that provided operations managers with improved visibility into the time entry details.
The Results
By implementing real-time validation, contractor time entry accuracy increased to over 95%, minimizing errors and ensuring reliable data. This improvement streamlined the process from time entry to the release of a Service Entry Sheet (SES), significantly reducing delays. Additionally, data entry efficiency soared by over 80%, freeing up resources and accelerating overall workflow.
