Methodology

How the invoice processing cost calculator works

The estimate is deliberately simple and transparent, so you can sanity-check it against your own AP data. Open “Adjust assumptions” to replace any default with your own number.

  1. Manual invoices

Monthly volume × 12 × the share handled manually.

  2. Manual hours

Manual invoices × minutes per invoice, plus exceptions × extra minutes to resolve.

  3. Annual cost

Manual hours × loaded cost per hour.

  4. Automated target

An 80% reduction in manual effort, the low end of the 80–85% a Rio customer reported.

How is the invoice processing cost calculated?

We multiply your manually handled invoices by the average minutes each one takes, add the extra time spent resolving exceptions, and convert the hours to cost using a loaded hourly rate. Every assumption is shown and can be changed in the calculator.

Where does the automated target come from?

The automated target applies an 80% reduction in manual invoice effort, the low end of the 80–85% reduction in daily invoice entry overhead reported by a Rio customer, GM3. You can change the reduction in the assumptions panel.

Does Rio work with SAP ECC and S/4HANA?

Yes. Rio runs natively with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, validating and posting invoices inside SAP using standard interfaces. See how Rio automates invoice processing in SAP.
